Featured Blogger- Femina Elisa
Today’s featured bloggers Elisa from Femina She is relatively new to blogging, but I hope you enjoying learning a little more about her and discovering her blog.
I am wanting to cover a broad range of different blogs, old and new from many different circles and niches. I hope you are enjoying them.
When did you start your blog?
I started my blog, Femina in February this year.
Why did you start blogging?
I am a full time stay at home mum and I was in desperate need of a hobby. Something that wasn’t totally baby, nappy and teething focused. I needed something that I could sink my teeth into. My husband had just started up his own blog and suggested I do the same. After much pondering I started up Femina and it fills the void perfectly.
Describe your blog in 20 words or less
Femina is a study of the female reflection. It looks at issues that effect women worldwide.
What are your 5 must have tools for blogging?
1. Quiet time!
2. Passion
3. Google
4. ClustrMaps
5.Statcounter
What is your favourite part of being a blogger?
The discovery! There are so many brilliant blogs and networks out there. An entire universe exists that I was utterly oblivious to. I always get a thrill when I discover bloggers who are passionate about the same things as me.
What has been the biggest thing you have learnt since starting your blog?
If in doubt, post! The blog posts that I worried were a tad boring actually attracted the highest visitors. Don’t be afraid to take the odd risk, especially if you are still trying to find your feet.
If you could start again, what would you do differently?
Nothing really. My transition to the blog world was very organic and natural. It just happened and I like the direction it is taking.
What has been your blog’s biggest achievement?
Knowing that people I admire (like Danni Miller from Butterfly Foundation and political author John Maszka) have read and commented on my blog has been a real buzz.
What advice would do you have for new chick bloggers?
Successful blogs generally tend to be about specific topics or everyday musings. I think you need to chose one and stick with it. And passion seems to be the key to every good blog I have read.
Do you (or do you plan to) make any income from your blog?
No income is generated from Femina and whilst I have no plans at this stage, I certainly won’t rule it out completely.
What future goals do you have for your blog?
Right now I am fantasising about being in blogchicks top 100 list! I would also love Femina to be widely recognised as a blog promoting women’s interests.
Who are your 5 favourite chick bloggers and why?
