When did you start your blog?
Umm, good question! I started this version back in 2006, though I had others on other domains (yayme.com, funkyspacedog.com, lrkane.com) since maybe… 2003? I started my first web site 9 September 1999 and ran a forum 2001-2008, so I had a different outlet in my early online days

Why did you start blogging?
Because I have an ego that needs massaging! But I do like having an outlet for my craziness, though I struggle with the home/work and public/private balance and making sure I’m not crossing any lines

Describe your blog in 20 words or less
Brainfart. Food. Cupcakes. Cats. Immaturity. Photos. Ranting. Bridezilla. Diets. Exercise. ObamaPorn. Above all else, it is RAH!

What are your 5 must have tools for blogging?
1. Wordpress

2. Photoshop CS3 (none of that CS4 crap!)

3. A camera of some sort (either my iPhone, Canon Ixus 80 IS, Nikon D40 or D80)

4. Google Reader (for inspiration)

5. My brain (optional)

What is your favourite part of being a blogger?
Making new friends! Connecting with other bloggers with similar interests/obsessions. Realising that I’m not the only one who likes/feels/uses ItemX. Learning from other bloggers. Following them on a journey and feeling a part of that processes. Going on road trips with people I’d only ever spoken to online (and crashed a slumber party full of people who hadn’t even met me online – true story). It also means I can be faux social and catch up on other people’s lives without having to wear pants

What would be the biggest thing you have learnt since starting your blog?
Give a bit of your true self. It shows when you put yourself on the line in an online context and I think makes a real difference to your own blog and the way your readers connect to you and your writing. I’m still working on it

If you could start again, what would you do differently?
I’d probably swear less lol

What has been your blog’s biggest achievement?
Getting surveyed for Blog Chicks!!

What advice would do you have for new chick bloggers?
Be yourself. Spell check. Ignore trolls. Don’t blog about your job unless you want to lose it. Respond to comments. Have fun

Do you (or do you plan to) make any income from your blog?
I have Nuffnang ads (and have made a grand $8.80!). But I don’t do the blogging thing for money. Most of my online jaunts over the last years have been done for love, not money

What future goals do you have for your blog?
To get back on the Top 100 Australian Women Bloggers list!
