FebuSave Blog Ambassador Program

ANZ is embarking on a new and exciting campaign just for women in the new year, FebuSave.fus

FebuSave aims to encourage Australian women to start saving towards their goals. A month where savings habits can be developed in a fun challenge within an online community of other women. Bringing fun and humour to the art of saving, a community site will be launched  where we can all share what we are giving up to get to our goals. It may be, not splashing out on clothes or simply giving up coffee and chocolate. Within this community it is hoped Australian women will feel supported in this challenge and not feel isolated by their financial predicament.

ANZ are looking to invite leading female bloggers into an Ambassador program along side other Women bloggers PolkaDot Bride, Ask Her, Kate Carruthers, Australian Women online and moi, to be part of the campaign that will help educate Australian women to save money in February.

Would you be interested in becoming a FebuSave Ambassador and helping Australian women become more money confident?

I agreed to become part of the campaign after seeing some of the stats. Pretty scary right?

  • 52% of women claimed they know they should have a financial plan or budget in place but keep putting it off.
  • Less than one third of women surveyed said they were very confident about managing everyday finances.
  • Only one in ten women are very confident in managing their investments, financial planning and superannuation.
  • 45% said they had saved less than they planned to over the previous 12 months.
  • 2.76 million women (41%) are saving no regular amount monthly.
  • Top reasons were too many bills, not disciplined to follow a budget, too busy, so put it off.
  • More than half (58%) of adult women in Australia have less than $5,000 in savings with 33% having less than a $1,000.
  • 1 in 3 women believe they wouldn’t last longer than a month if they lost their job tomorrow.
  • 1 in 4 women are not at all confident about their future financial security, claiming they live pay to pay with little savings.

I am excited to be a part of the FebuSave campaign. I know myself, I am unable to save at all. I also worry about what money habits I am passing on to my children. So I am looking forward to setting up some new savings habits and helping other women along the way.

What are we asking our Ambassadors to do?

Some of the things ANZ is asking Ambassadors to do during the campaign will be recruit other female bloggers to the ambassador program. As well as share your own personal account of savings and what FebuSave means to your blog subject for example:

  • Saving for a Wedding
  • Saving for your first home
  • Making presents from crafts as opposed to buying them
  • Financial tips
  • Shopping on a budget
  • Household budget planning

We seem to be happy to discuss in intimate detail so many other aspects of our life, yet money seems to be such a taboo subject. So many women seem to be struggling with money management, yet are unable to find or ask for help and advice. I hope FebuSave will help break down these barriers and allow women to assist each other in reaching they financial goals.

If you would like to become part of this campaign, contact me for more details.

And yes, for those asking, a list update is on the way in the new year as well ;)
