New $800m fashion precinct unlike anything WA has seen – Herald Sun

You’d be forgiven for thinking you’re not in Perth anymore, upon walking into Karrinyup’s new multi-million dollar fashion precinct.

You’d be forgiven for thinking you’re not in Perth anymore, upon walking into Karrinyup’s new multi-million dollar fashion precinct.

The highly anticipated Level One of The Loop looks like it belongs in one of the world’s style capitals.

Indeed, WA has never before seen a retail hub of this calibre — until the next stage of Karrinyup’s $800 million development opens on Thursday.

More than 40 local and international designers have established new stores in the centre, including Aje, Camilla, Viktoria & Woods, Coach, Ralph Lauren and Oroton.

PerthNow was given a sneak peek at the sprawling new fashion level before the curtain officially comes down for the general public, and it did not disappoint.

Not only is the fashion offering ahead of the curve, but the shop fit-outs themselves are cutting edge, with innovative interior design elements enhancing the buyer experience and creating those all-important Insta-worthy backdrops.

There is also a VIP styling suite, valet parking and an open-air deck with stunning views that stretch to the city.

Even the bathrooms are a must-see in their own right, with their glossy tiles, custom cabinetry, luxe furnishings and ethereal lighting.

AMP Capital’s Divisional Investment and Development Manager in WA, Scott Nugent, says The Loop, Level One, is experiential in every way.

“Everything is one notch up,” he says.

“This hasn’t been seen in Perth before.

“We made a conscious decision to deliver an international experience but still with a WA vibe.”

The sprawling new Zara store boasts a unique layout with organic-shaped walls, which Nugent says puts the Karrinyup location in front of global sites.

“The Zara is their new generation fit out, so this is nowhere else in the world — only a handful of stores are starting to roll this out,” he says.

For those who might feel disenchanted with shopping centres and have taken their spending online, Nugent hopes the reimagined complex will make them fall back in love with in-person retail.

“It’s so transformative; it doesn’t even feel like you’re in Karrinyup anymore. At over $800 million spend, that’s what you get,” he says.

Thursday’s grand opening will include a Taste of Fashion runway moment highlighting Karrinyup’s key new brands, curated by WA stylist Teagan Sewell and renowned Australian fashion industry identity Mark Vassallo.

“With Taste of Fashion, we’ve collaborated closely with the brands to create a fashion moment that showcases not only just great looks from each brand but also their unique connection to Western Australia,” Vassallo says.

“We have a great bespoke look from Morrison opening the show then a mix of bespoke and elevated looks from each designer. With a mix of amazing food, fashion, a beautiful set, and talented dancers from Co3, this is a fashion moment that we haven’t quite seen before.”
