AS IF HIS resume wasn’t already stacked enough with musical achievements and sporting accolades, Australia’s Cody Simpson has now launched a fashion label.
The singer-songwriter, swimmer and poet has announced that his eco-fashion brand Prince Neptune: The Label will be available to shop from August 2022.
The collection — a capsule of luxe loungewear essentials — was created alongside Australian fashion agency Slyletica and “conceived with people and the planet in mind”.
From planning to production to packaging, Prince Neptune: The Label implores environmentally sustainable practices and the brand is “intentionally eco-considered.” This conscious approach is no surprise given Simpson’s prior environmental involvement, including his ongoing role as an Oceans Ambassador for WWF.
It was really important for me to STAY TRUE to my VISION from both a DESIGN perspective and what I STAND FOR
Accordingly, the loungewear label blends comfort and luxury, employing eco-blend fabrics in relaxed cuts to deliver a gender-neutral line of essentials and basics.
“I was looking for really comfortable sweats and t-shirts that were sustainably made and I realised just how hard it is to find.” Simpson says, of his inspiration.
”It was really important for me to stay true to my vision from both a design perspective and what I stand for. We took our time thinking about things like water conservation, using fewer chemicals, compostable packaging and incorporating recycled materials, and did so without compromising comfort and style.”
